The Blackhawks lost a 4-1 game against the St. Louis Blues on March 22, meanwhile, the San Jose Sharks got a win over the Dallas Stars and now sit two points below the Blackhawks in the standings.
Why does this matter?
Well, for one, all of you draft nerds can spaz out over whether or not the Blackhawks securing the best odds for the number overall pick in this year’s draft lottery is good for the team or not.
I personally don’t care. I’m done worrying about the draft lottery ever since we landed Connor Bedard. Whatever happens, happens.
What I do care about is that this season went well below goals and expectations set by GM Kyle Davidson. Players were signed to meet a specific (and achievable) goal. That goal has not been met and the Blackhawks may finish worse in the standings. Is it fixable? Sure. Davidson can easily adjust if he’s not happy with the product produced by his pro-scouting department.
But we shouldn’t let this “slide” just because all we have to do is “wait and be patient.”
Anyway, there’s a hockey game starting in about two minutes. Read up on the preview in the link below.
