Newsletter Update, Game Recaps, and Blackhawks News
An update on the newsletter and some Hawks news to kick your week off.
Happy Monday.
You have things to do so I won’t keep you long. Unless you’re trying to escape the reality of your job then feel free to hang around.
I have no comments on the boring Super Bowl. Good for Philly, I guess.
If you didn’t know, the NHL is taking a two-week break because of the 4 Nations Face-Off. Which means the Blackhawks won’t be playing again until Feb. 22.
The international tournament is set to begin on Feb. 12. The lone Blackhawks representative is Teuvo Teravainen for Team Finland. You can read more about that here.
I figured now would be a good time to do an update about this newsletter (don’t worry baby, I’m not going anywhere).
I’ve been sending out emails for when Game Day Threads go up. I’ve noticed that for whatever reason those emails get sent to the promotion inbox if you use Gmail.
So, I’m going to redo the formula around here.
As I’ve told you a billion, trillion times already, I focus all of my writing for On Tap Sports. I write game previews, game recaps, news, analysis, and more about the Blackhawks.
I’ll be consolidating those articles and posting them here in this newsletter. A daily-ish update, so to speak. Now, those articles are going to be links bringing you to On Tap Sports, I can’t just copy and paste that stuff because that’s not even legal. But you can pick and choose what to read about to stay on top of this team we all love for some reason or another.
It’ll go something like this - Link, followed by a short excerpt, and a link to the game day thread.

Game Recap: Blackhawks @ Blues: 5-6 OT Loss Feb, 8.
Clad in their Winter Classic uniforms, the Chicago Blackhawks failed to avenge their New Year's Eve loss to the Blues on Saturday. The Blackhawks blew a two-goal lead before clawing their way back to a 5-4 lead...
Roster Move: Blackhawks assign Del Mastro to Rockford
I went back and watched all of his shifts in his most recent game on Feb. 8. Below are some highlights that stood out to me. First up is a nice shift where Del Mastro (CHI38) is involved in the OZ and makes responsible plays in the DZ…
Of course, I won’t spew too many words like I did at the top of this email, but you get the idea.
I want to keep these newsletters short and sweet.
That’s it for now. If you have ideas or anything you’d like to see, shoot them my way. I’m working on a look at head coach Anders Sorensen, so be on the lookout for that.
Oh, and still free. Always will be.
Let’s Go Hawks.
