Preseason Gameday: Blackhawks vs. Detroit Red Wings | 7 pm CT Sept. 30, 2025
The Blackhawks play their fourth preseason game at home against the Detroit Red Wings.
It’s game day. At least, the preseason kind.
Game previews won’t be as in-depth as they will be for regular-season games (which start next Tuesday, Oct. 7). You’ll get these emails for most game days with my previews from On Tap Sports Net, which is where you’ll find the meat of the preview. I might throw in an extra thought or two in here.
Below is the link to the preview, thanks to Pat Comiskey.
Lineups
In future previews at On Tap, I’ll be doing lineups for the opposition as well. Given that it’s preseason, I don’t think it matters a whole lot.
What does matter is who ends up claiming a roster spot on the blueline. I don’t like that Matt Grzelyk could claim a spot from his PTO. I would like to see Artyom Levshunov and Kevin Korchinski both make the starting night roster… but we both know what will probably end up happening.
Kevin Korchinski was sent down to Rockford today, so I guess that solves that.
Roster Construction

Players listed are the ones in the lineup. Plan on doing this for the opposition as well during the regular season. Will be posting that here only.
