Putting this on the shelf
Hey everyone,
With the Olympics going on and no Blackhawks hockey to write about here, I took the time to figure out the next step for this Substack.
As most of you know, I’ll now be writing for Second City Hockey, which means most of my Blackhawks writing will be there.
As for Eat The Hatchet, well, I think it’s time to put this on the shelf for now.
I’ve been getting hit with an influx of spam accounts on Substack, and I just don’t have the time to focus on both Second City Hockey and here.
Will I return here? Probably not. Unless I get kicked off of SCH for some reason. I actually planned to step back from writing about hockey, and they recently approached me to write for them. They are my biggest inspiration for wanting to even write about hockey, so I wasn’t going to turn them down.
So if you enjoyed my Blackhawks work (for reasons), there’s a way to stay up to date.
I’ve created an author website/blog. I’m working on writing a memoir about Afghanistan (unrelated to hockey, I know). On that website, I’ll be sharing my Hawks thoughts and other sports thoughts on occasion. I’ll also be sending out a newsletter with links to my written work over at Second City Hockey.
Feel free to join me over there. You can use this link to take you to the new website. I have the option to just migrate emails from here to there, but I don’t feel comfortable forcing that on people, and also, like I said, there are a ton of spam accounts on Substack.
I’ll be keeping this website up for now and still reading the other Substacks that I have subscribed to.
